The Bracknell Regeneration Partnership, a 50:50 joint venture partnership between Legal & General Capital and Schroder UK Real Estate Fund, together with Bracknell Forest Council, is redeveloping the first former post-war New Town. Over £240 million is being spent to transform Bracknell Town Centre into a shopping and leisure destination. This is part of a wider £768 million regeneration of the borough.
The UK has experienced decades of underinvestment in the built environment. Alongside that there has been a disjointed, silo mentality towards redevelopment which only considers projects sector-by-sector – commercial, residential, industrial – rather than as a whole.
